Healthcare Design Award Shortlist

Wynbrook is celebrating after our collaboration on the design and build of a £8m care home was recently shortlisted for an award in the “Best New Care Home” category in  the 2018 Pinders Healthcare Design Awards.

The three companies were involved in the project were Chartered Surveyors, Edward Cooper Young, Wynbrook, and care home operators Adept Care Homes.

Family-run, Chetwynd House Care Home has been open since December 2018, and provides affordable luxury. It has been specially designed to ensure residents enjoy the finest accommodation where attention has been paid to every detail, from the inclusion of innovative technology to assist with everyday care planning to beautiful hotel-like furnishings and decor.

Dave Lock, Adept Care Homes Managing Director, said: “We are thrilled to have Chetwynd House nominated for a prestigious Pinders award. A lot of skilled individuals have worked together to ensure Chetwynd House meets our aim of being a superb place to live and work. Being shortlisted for such an award is once again testament to our commitment to providing excellent care in a superior environment.”

Chetwynd House is the second new care home that Wynbrook has built for Adept Care Homes over the last two years, and another home is already in the pipeline for 2018.

Wynbrook’s Design & Build Construction Director, Steve Day, said: “We are thrilled to have completed another luxury care home for Adept Care Homes, both on time and within budget. We look forward to finding out whether the project has been successful in winning an award.”

Ashley Cooper, Senior Partner, Edward Cooper Young Chartered Surveyors added: “We are delighted to have played our part in successfully delivering our third project for Adept Care Homes, with a fourth scheme on the horizon in March 2018. It is fantastic to work with a client who embraces collaborative working, which has resulted in many design and operational improvements from each project to the next”.

The Pinders Healthcare Design Awards seek to acknowledge the contribution made by designers, architects, and the owners of care homes, retirement housing and other care schemes to the well- being and quality of life for those in their care.

Whilst architectural standards and innovation are key factors, the overriding test for any project has to be the degree to which it has recognised the needs and desires of the service-users and incorporated these into the final design.

The 2018 Pinders Healthcare Design Awards lunch will be held on 14th March at the Royal Lancaster London Hotel during which the winners of all categories will be announced.
